Review of Year 2013 (NTU Alumni Chamber Ensemble)

I.        ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS

In the first half of year 2013, some of our members were traveling and hence our Ensemble had no public performances. Meantime, we continued the weekly practice in members’ homes. The major piece was J.S. Bach’s “Orchestra Suite #2, flute and strings”.  The cello part was played by the bass clarinet with the scores transposed from C to B-flat.

Church Architecture — Influence of Church Culture

In our small group meeting, we have discussed “World Views” and how they influence our Christian beliefs such as “Where we came from?” We have discussed Darwin’s biological “Evolution Theory” in the group study. My thinking is that we seem to neglect the “Cultural Evolution” and its influence in our worldviews. History of the past 50 years tells us how different and how fast the landscapes changed since when we were children.

NTU Chamber Group 2008 Annual Recital

NTU Chamber group historically hosts an annual recital of remembrance & Thanksgiving to serve the community. The annual recital provided an opportunity for the students to perform in public. It provided a platform for the musicians to learn from each other and the event also served as a social gathering for the parents and the teachers. Besides annual recital, the group performed in churches, in Chinese festivals and homes of the group members and friends. Sometimes, the group was invited to perform in supporting the recitals from the other musical groups.
