September 8, we were invited by Orange County Taiwanese Community Groups to play in their “Love Taiwan Night” concert at Taiwan Economic and Cultural Center in Santa Ana, CA.
NTU Alumni Chamber Ensemble (NTU Chamber) returns to the regular Sunday night gathering for practice. The Ensemble consists of one flute, one first violin, two second violins, one viola, one bass clarinet and one piano. As for the music, we selected Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor for flute and strings. The cello score was transposed for bass clarinet. NTU Chamber group historically hosts an annual recital of remembrance & Thanksgiving to serve the community. The annual recital provided an opportunity for the students to perform in public. It provided a platform for the musicians to learn from each other and the event also served as a social gathering for the parents and the teachers. Besides annual recital, the group performed in churches, in Chinese festivals and homes of the group members and friends.
